The Center for Hellenic Studies frequently hosts leading scholars in the field of Hellenic Studies for public lectures, seminars, and conferences.  Some recent speakers have included:

Recent Events


The CHS kicked off its 2005-06 Fellowship year with a lecture by Angelos Chaniotis of the University of Heidelberg titled "Petrified Emotions: Understanding Graffiti at Aphrodisias."  Learn more.

The CHS kicked off its 2004-2005 Fellowship year with a visually stunning lecture by art historian Alan Shapiro, W.H. Collins Vickers Professor of Archaeology at Johns Hopkins University. Professor Shapiro's talk was entitled, Alcibiades: Image and Self-Fashioning in Classical Athens and was illustrated by a host of beautiful images from the Classical world.
