Travel Study Programs
CHS in Greece supports and hosts a series of programs, organized by the CHS headquarters and/or other collaborative American educational institutions. These programs consist of educational trips that combine traveling and study in Greece. Students and other participants have the opportunity to visit Greece and its important archaeological and historical sites, while attending seminars on classical studies and history, taught by distinguished scholars.
CHS in Greece supports these programs administratively and logistically with the financial support of CHS, through funds available exclusively for the aforementioned administrative and logistic needs of the programs' organization and implementation.
In this context, for the academic year 2018–2019, CHS organizes, and continues supporting, the following Travel Study Program:
Harvard Alumni Travels – Center for Hellenic Studies Harvard Spring Break Trip 2019
In cooperation with the Harvard Alumni Travels, the Center for Hellenic Studies supports the organization of the “Spring Break in Greece” trip in March 2019. Academic head of the program is professor Nagy. Starting from Nafplio and Mycenae and proceeding through the Peloponnese on the way to Delphi and Athens, participants can delve into this part of the world and its unique history, supplementing their explorations with selected readings in translation from Homer, Pausanias, and even some modern texts.
The group consists of students and alumni, offering an intergenerational academic approach to the experience.
The program is open to HeroesX alumni, as well. Please direct your program-related questions to the Harvard Alumni Travels (e-mail: haatravels(at)harvard.edu or call: +1 800 422 1636, +1 617 496 0806).
