2016 CHS Summer Internship Program in Nafplio


The Summer Internship Program in Nafplio, organized and hosted by the Center for Hellenic Studies (CHS) concluded on Wednesday, July 6.
The students, all receiving a scholarship from CHS, worked for the following institutions: Charoula – Maria Fotiadou (University of Ioannina) and Luke Kelly (Harvard) in the Archaeological Museum of Nafplio, Theodora Prassa (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) and Evanthea Hammer (Georgetown) in the National Gallery, Nafplio Annex, Alexandros Theodoridis (Democritus University of Thrace) and Samantha Garin (Harvard) in the European Information Center – Europe Direct Nafplio, Christina Vouvaki – Manousaki (Ionion University) and Yanni Metaxas (Boston University) in Anthos Library of Fougaro cultural complex and Janice Jia (Harvard), Andy Secondine (Harvard) and Anna Zervou (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens) in the Municipal Organization of  Culture, Environment, Sports and Tourism in Nafplio (DOPPAT).
In addition to the internships, the participants had the chance to visit sites of the Argolid and Athens during educational trips. Moreover, they met with academics and professionals from their field of studies, aiming to enhance their professional development.
The Center for Hellenic Studies would like to deeply thank all participating students and the institutions that hosted them. Furthermore, we would like to thank the Municipality of Nafplio and the Prefecture of the Peloponnese for the cooperation and support throughout the program, as well as the Fulbright Foundation for their meeting with the students.
The next meeting with the students and the professors will take place in Washington, DC, U.S.A. in October 2016, where the program will be concluded.
