Residences at the CHS

Fellows and other residents of the Center live on the grounds in one- and two-family houses and studio apartments. The houses are free-standing cottages set back from the driveway to the main building.

The studio apartments, built in the summer of 1993, are located near the main building and connected to the Center’s guest house by a colonnade: hence the name “Stoa” for the two-building complex.

In addition, all Fellows have individual studies in the main building, where the library, seminar room, administrative offices, common room, and dining room are located.

Each residential unit is completely furnished. Laundry facilities, air-conditioning, heat, electricity, and all utilities except long-distance telephone calls are provided by the Center without charge.
