Stallings, poet, critic, and verse translator, who will discuss and read from her new verse translation of Hesiod's Works and Days, focusing on the experience of translating Hesiod (a poet deeply concerned with justice, work, debt, and hard times) in Greece during the Greek financial meltdown. Harvard University’s Center for Hellenic Studies and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, School of Philology are pleased to offer jointly up to three Fellowships to Ph.D. holders from AUTH’s Department of Classics, who received their doctorate degree no more than five years ago.
