Earlier this month, our Director, Mark Schiefsky, members from the CHS and our sister institution CHS Greece, and graduates of the CHS Greece High School Summer Program participated in the 3-day conference “50 Years of the Metapolitefsi”. The conference commemorated the 50th anniversary of the restoration of Greek democracy after the fall of Greece’s military dictatorship in 1974. Panelists of the conference included Greece’s current President, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, among the country’s former prime ministers as well. Topics discussed revolved around justice, education, the economy, the environment, and the future of Greek and world democracy in the next 50 years. See the full program here.
