The CHS offers fellowship research opportunities to postdoctoral researchers. The next application cycle will begin in Fall 2021.
The program encourages and supports research of the highest quality on topics related to ancient Greece. The program offers options for collaborative and coordinating proposals. Fellowships include a stipend (maximum $18,000), housing at the CHS in Washington, DC for 4 to 16 weeks, subsidized health insurance, and support for relocation expenses.
The program aims to support researchers who are citizens or permanent residents of Greece and Cyprus, and whose work requires continued access to material on site (e.g. archives, artifacts, archaeological sites). Fellowships include a stipend of $9,000 and the opportunity to visit the CHS offices in Nafplio, for up to 5 days, and in Washington, DC, for up to 10 days.
On the occasion of the celebration of the 200 years (1821-2021) since the Greek war of independence and as part of a series of events that the CHS will organize to honor this important anniversary, the CHS offers one fellowship to a postdoctoral researcher based in Greece to conduct research of the highest quality on topics related to 19th-century Philhellenism. The fellowship includes a stipend of $15,000.
