The Center for Hellenic Studies, Harvard University will be honored by your presence at the Harvard Worldwide Week 2017 to attend the event:
 

Role of an international Center in supporting the University’s global presence.

Programs and collaborations in Greece.

 
The event will be held at 4pm – 5.45pm, October 24, 2017, at the William James Hall auditorium B1, 33 Kirkland St, Cambridge, MA 02138. The event is free and open to the entire University community.
 
Program description:
Faculty, students, and other colleagues from the Harvard community are invited to share their experiences and perspectives in working on different aspects of the University’s international presence in cooperation with Harvard’s Center for Hellenic Studies (CHS). How can an international Center support the global presence of the University through the development of new educational and collaborative templates and/or the expansion of existing ones?

4.00-4.10pm – Opening remarks:
Gregory Nagy, Francis Jones Professor of Classical Greek Literature and Professor of Comparative Literature, Harvard University & Director of the Center for Hellenic Studies.
 
4.10-4.50pm – First panel:
>Teaching Internships Program. Faculty perspectives: Kevin Caffrey, Lecturer on Social Studies, Harvard University. Student perspectives: Thomas Elliott, Allison Toledo, Kate Yoon, Harvard University.
>Cultural Internships Program. Faculty perspectives: Nicole Newendorp, Assistant Director of Studies for Juniors and Seniors & Lecturer on Social Studies, Harvard University. Student perspectives: Layla Siddig, Harvard University.
>Harvard Summer Program in Greece. Faculty perspectives: Dimiter Angelov, Dumbarton Oaks Professor of Byzantine History, Harvard University. Student perspectives: Andy Secondine, Harvard University.
*Harvard faculty and students are invited to share their experiences after participating in different templates of study abroad programs, developed by, or in cooperation with, CHS in Greece.
 
4.50-5.20pm – Second panel:
>Organizing International Conferences abroad, Department of the Classics, Harvard University: David Elmer, Professor of the Classics, Harvard University.
>Developing Travel Study Programs in Greece, Harvard Alumni Association (HAA): Trearty Bartley, Director, Travel Program, HAA, Harvard University.
>Developing international collaborations, Harvard Library: Rhea Lesage, Librarian for Hellenic Studies and Coordinator for the Classics & Associate of the Center for Hellenic Studies, Harvard University.
>Developing collaborations across disciplines, Committee on Degrees in Social Studies: Kate Anable, Department Administrator, Undergraduate Program Administrator, Harvard University.
*Harvard faculty and staff, who have worked on different international projects and collaborations with the CHS, share thoughts and ideas about this cooperation.
 
5.20-5.45pm – Social event/reception.
Attendants will have the opportunity to meet and discuss programs, collaborations, and opportunities with the CHS DC and CHS GR teams.
