The Society for the Promotion of Education and Learning in collaboration with the Center for Hellenic Studies, Harvard University, will host a one-day educational conference on Saturday, March 11, 2017, in the Athens Word and Art Auditorium, Book’s Arcade on the topic of:
“From Homer to Modern Greek: diachronic approaches to Greek language”
The conference will begin on 9:30 am EET and end on 6:00 pm EET, and it will be open to the public. Presentations will be delivered in English and Greek, with simultaneous on site interpretation.
The conference will also be broadcast live online (www.stoabibliou.gr) through the National Research and Technology Network (GRNET).
CHS speakers include Gregory Nagy, Ioannis Petropoulos, Keith Stone and Stephanie Roussou. Educators from the Arsakeia-Tositseia Schools will also be presenting ways of applying the diachronic approaches to Greek language in the classroom.
The conference is held under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs.
