On Saturday, April 26, 2014 the Art Deco Murals of Hildreth Meière were in the spotlight. The Modern Greek Studies Program of the Classics Department at Georgetown University and the Center for Hellenic Studies in Washington, D.C. presented a program of lectures, held at Georgetown University, on the mosaics, their design and their restoration. Later in the evening, the Center for Hellenic Studies hosted a small gathering to welcome the Meière Mosaics to their new home. The courtyard was filled with friends of the CHS, who had the opportunity to admire the panels and enjoy the new spaces of the Center. The music to accompany the home coming of the two panels was composed by Eric Shimelonis, a well-known conductor and multi-instrumentalist in Washington, D.C.
