Ξεκινά στις 20 Δεκεμβρίου η ετήσια σειρά εκδηλώσεων του Κέντρου Ελληνικών Σπουδών του Πανεπιστημίου Harvard, “Events Series 2018”.
Η σειρά εκδηλώσεων Events Series 2018 του ΚΕΣ έχει ως θέμα «Ηγεσία και Ανθρωπιστικές Αξίες» (Leadership and Humanism). O εφετινός κύκλος ομιλιών έχει έναν ιδιαίτερο, επετειακό χαρακτήρα, καθώς συμπληρώνονται δέκα έτη από την έναρξη της επίσημης λειτουργίας του Κέντρου στο Ναύπλιο. Οι ομιλητές θα θέσουν ερωτήματα σχετικά με τον ρόλο των ηγεσιών και των ηγετών στην ανάγκη των ανθρώπων να ευημερούν ως φυσικές, διανοητικές και ηθικές οντότητες.
Το Events Series 2018 ξεκινάει τον Δεκέμβριο του 2017 και ολοκληρώνεται τον Ιούνιο του 2018, με τέσσερις εκδηλώσεις στο Ναύπλιο και μια στην Αθήνα, τη Θεσσαλονίκη και την Πάτρα αντιστοίχως. Τον εφετινό κύκλο έχει θέσει υπό την Αιγίδα του η Α.Ε. ο Πρόεδρος της Δημοκρατίας κύριος Προκόπιος Παυλόπουλος, ο οποίος θα συμμετάσχει με ομιλία του στην καταληκτήριο εκδήλωση. Εφέτος οι συνεργαζόμενοι φορείς για την πραγματοποίηση του προγράμματος είναι η Εθνική Βιβλιοθήκη της Ελλάδος, το Πανεπιστήμιο Πατρών, το Μουσείο Βυζαντινού Πολιτισμού Θεσσαλονίκης, ο Σύλλογος Αποφοίτων του Πανεπιστημίου Harvard στην Ελλάδα και ο Δήμος Ναυπλιέων.

“Leadership and Humanism”
The annual Harvard CHS GR Events Series 2018 commences on December 20.
Events Series 2018 is devoted to “Leadership and Humanism.” This year’s series has a special, celebratory character, because it marks the tenth anniversary of the Center’s formal inception in Nafplio. The speakers will explore the role of leadership and leaders in answering the need of people to prosper as physical, mental, and moral entities.
Events Series 2018 begins in December 2017 and ends in June 2018, with four events in Nafplio and one in Athens, Thessaloniki, and Patras, respectively. This year’s series will be held under the auspices of H.E. the President of the Hellenic Republic Mr. Prokopios Pavlopoulos, who will give a lecture at the closing event. The institutions collaborating in the implementation of the current program include the National Library of Greece, the University of Patras, the Museum of Byzantine Culture of Thessaloniki, the Harvard Club of Greece, and the Municipality of Nafplio.

“The crisis of the Rule of Law as a crisis of democratic legitimacy of Leadership”
Harvard University’s Center for Hellenic Studies in Greece (CHS GR) has as its main task the promotion of the study of Greek culture in a broad sense, as well as the enhancement of its humanist values. It extends and supplements the mission of Harvard University’s Center for Hellenic Studies (CHS) in Washington, DC, through a variety of research and educational activities in Nafplio and other cities in Greece. These initiatives and activities include the annual series of lectures by distinguished intellectuals and, in particular, scholars from Greek and foreign universities. The lectures aim at educating the general public.
