Date: Friday, November 19, 2021
Time: 11:00am EST

How do we sing Homer’s immortal stories in this moment of isolation? Emerging writer Muse Lee answers this question with a dazzling project: Aristos: the Musical, a queer pop/rock adaptation of The Iliad produced remotely during the pandemic.

Directed by Lee and crowdfunded by a devoted global fanbase, far-flung artists have gathered in the virtual sphere to record the Aristos album. Through the beloved story of Achilles and Patroclus, this project brings together an worldwide community of aspiring performers, established theatre actors, veteran music teachers, renowned stage directors, retired opera singers, and everything in between, all singing Homer’s deathless tragedy.

Join us for an extended preview of Aristos’ album, during which Lee will tell the story of how young classics enthusiasts around the world carried a humble Bay Area project to an international musical theatre album.
