Programs

The Center for Hellenic Studies offers academic programming and initiatives for an array of constituents, from self-directed students of all ages to specialists in the field of Hellenic Studies.

Submissions for program proposals open in the spring of each year with a deadline of September 15 for programming in the following academic year. To learn more, please see our Program Proposal Guidelines.

Exhibitions

Currently on view:

Black Classicists: This installation celebrates the important role of African Americans in the field of Classics and provides an opportunity to reflect upon the purpose of higher education and its place in the struggle for equality and human enrichment.
The Pillars of Herakles: This work features three panels: a center panel depicting Herakles’ passage through the Strait of Gibraltar, and two side panels featuring the Pillars of Herakles.
Chisel and Memory: This exhibition celebrates the contributions of marble craftsmanship to the restoration of the Acropolis monuments. It features a selection of prints from the archive of the Acropolis Restoration Service, which includes over 300,000 objects.

Grants

The Center for Hellenic Studies offers grants for projects related to Hellenic Studies, broadly conceived. Awards are up to $5,000 for students and $9,000 for faculty. Funds are meant to support curriculum development, travel, internships, and/or allowable research-related expenses.

Student Opportunities

The CHS offers several opportunities for undergraduate, and graduate students conducting research in the field of Hellenic Studies.

The Center for Hellenic Studies in Greece also hosts a variety of internships and programs for undergraduate and high school students.
