Visiting Artists Presentation: Mnemosyne Initiative

Date: Friday, April 23, 2021
Time: 11:00am-12:45pm EDT / 6:00-7:45pm Greece

Part of the CHS Visiting Artist Presentation Series, the event features an international group of visual artists exploring commemoration, memory, and trauma through the project, Mnemosyne – Traversing Boundaries on Meandering Routes of Memory. Their work draws from a vast range of disciplines, such as art history, philosophy, anthropology, and scientific fields, and intersects with ancient and contemporary ideas. Through artistic investigation and research practice, the Mnemosyne Initiative inspires novel ways to confront the past and to shape both the present and the future.

Curated by Artemis Herber, the participating artists include: Bill Adair, Iris Brosch, Anna Gillespie, Perla Krauze, Eunsook Lee, Judith Pratt, Marc Robarge, and the Hermes Group — Albert Bonay and Zachery Dietrich.

Andreas Philippopoulos-Mihalopoulos, academic, artist, and author, and Christoph Quarch, philosopher, author, and speaker, will respond to the presentations.
